Tonight we took our first family bike ride. Hadley had SO much fun going down the hills and screaming "weeeeeee".

An afternoon with mom
After nap today Hadley and I set out for the library and for a special treat. Our local library has this awesome set up where the kids can check out their own books. Hadley LOVES this. It is adorable to watch her. As soon as it "dings" that the book is checked out she says, "okay, got that one!" Then it was off for a special ice cream treat with LOTS of sprinkles! The best part of that experience was when Hadley and I were sitting there eating our ice cream. The dairy queen has a TV in it that was tuned in to CNN. All of the sudden she yells, "look mom, it's Barack Obama!" I thought the people next to us were going to pee in their pants!

Dance Recital
Hadley had her first dance recital tonight. Unfortunately she wasn't too much into doing the routine tonight, but we got some really cute before performance shots. I tried to put the video of her at the dress rehearsal last saturday up, but it said it was going to take like 3 hours to download and I don't have time for that, hopefully I'll get it up in the next couple of days!
Because....
I recently read an article about why people do races. Whether it be a marathon, triathlon, the iron man, etc. The person writing the article said that most have a "because". It made me think. Actually I didn't have to think too hard. I have had three "because" statements resonating in my head throughout this entire experience, from the moment I decided it was something I wanted to do. Every time I want to stop or give up, I repeat my because statements over and over and over in my head. These are my three...
Because it wasn't cancer....
Because I thought I couldn't and now I think I can....
Because I want to show my daughter you can do anything if you put your mind (and heart) to it....
And that's what I'll be thinking as I cross the finish line.
